Jerek contacted me via a mutual friend wanting to surprise his lady with a proposal by a waterfall.
Sutherland Falls holds a special meaning for this out - of - town couple, so we chose this beautiful area a 20 minute drive from Revelstoke and made a plan.

A quick five minute walk from the parking lot holds a stunning view of the waterfall, and with the leaves starting to change colors, it was a sweet spot for the surprise.

What I loved most about this surprise proposal was that Jerek wanted to spin Shannon around right before he bent down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage. Their unique lust for life and excitement and each other was contagious.

The water roared on and we got some beautiful photos of this happy couple. I can’t wait to see what life brings your way.

Photographing Caleb + Jessica’s elopement was a true privilege. Just over five years ago when I first started my full time job where Caleb was a supervisor, little did we both know that a few years down the road, after a few stints in other store locations, he would become the store manager and that I would be photographing his wedding!!

I can honestly say that being a part of this elopement was so cool!! From hearing Jess’s excitement over plans for the day and coming up with a little surprise for the bride + groom to fill their bellies after their ceremony, it’s safe to say that the day was a memorable one.

I am glad I was able to surprise the beautiful couple with a handmade cake made by Eva who runs a little cake business from her home called Sweet Amai Cakes. With a borrowed cooler, and a quick trip down, then back up the mountainside to stash the cake in the bushes I made it back to the top car park to welcome the couple as they arrived on the hot summer day.

As we hiked down the short walk to the waterfalls we fended off the mosquitoes then stood beside the roaring Begbie Falls (a must see spot if you stop in Revelstoke!). There were only a few family members to witness this epic life event and a beauty of a golden retriever, Blondie.
